The United States and China continue with their back-and-forth regarding their trade dispute, bringing the world closer to a trade war each day.
Yesterday President Trump announced that from now on there will be new measures in place that would regulate how China processes sensitive information belonging to American companies doing business there. There would also be stricter control on foreign (especially Chinese) investment in the United States. These measures are planned to help companies that have previously complained that their business suffers from China’s unfair acquisition of their intellectual property.
The Chinese government expressed its disapproval of this course of action. The ministry of commerce issued a statement that they would keep an eye on the new investment rules. Moreover, China suggested that they might become more open to Europe, now that relations with the United States are deteriorating.
