After yesterday's speeches by the presidents of the Federal Reserve Banks Patrick Harker and John Williams, in which they said that thanks to positive changes in the economy a further increase in interest rates is possible, investors have regained their confidence. Furthermore, yesterday a report on employment in the non-agricultural sector was released, which undoubtedly had a positive impact on the dollar and strengthened optimism about the world's largest economy. This caused the S&P 500 to break another record and on Thursday completed the longest winning session since July 2013.
Yesterday shares of American companies showed a profit, a positive movement that was also taken up by their Asian counterparts.
For today the most eagerly awaited news from the United States is the output of the report on the labor market. Another important economic event today is the output of business activity indices in Canada.
