Today there is much commotion on the financial markets.
First of all, we expect to hear from the European Central Bank. The ECB will announce if any changes to interest rates will be made, which is highly unlikely. We also hope to hear anything about the ECB’s future plans for monetary policy. While many analysts hope for a hint about the end of stimulus measures, considering that inflation isn’t increasing, we don’t think this would be announced anytime soon.
Furthermore, we are also waiting to hear more from President Trump on his proposed tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. Last week he made a speedy announcement and also stated that it will all become official this week. It has been quite a controversial policy since Trump does not even have the support of his own party for this, so we still need to follow the issue closely.
These events will have their impact on stock and commodity markets, so watch out for price changes there around the announcements’ times.
