American Markets Open after the Holiday

The dollar index continues to strengthen for the third consecutive day. Yesterday the United States celebrated President's Day and American trading centers were not working. Despite the lack of new data and reports, the dollar continued to rise against a basket of major currencies.

Futures on the S&P 500 index continue to show a negative trend for the second day, in spite of the absence of US players on the stock exchange.

At the moment the markets expect the Federal Reserve publications and reports; prior to these releases we do not expect any sudden movements in the markets.

Meanwhile, Singaporean authorities have declared their intent to raise taxes on goods and services by 9% in connection with the desire to save money and cope with the rapid aging of the population.

With regard to oil prices, since yesterday growth exhibits a different dynamic and thus the Brent crude oil is currently losing -1.15%, while the WTI added +0.47%.

Cryptocurrency markets continue to recover positions and the price of the reference cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, has risen above the level of $11,000 with a capitalization of close to around 195 billion dollars.
