Markets Fluctuate

Today is expected to yield a number of macroeconomic indicators, as well as a number of statements from heads and members of the central banks of the United States and Europe. Therefore, in almost all of the major currencies we expect an increase in volatility. In addition, major US stock indices on Monday show a mildly positive trend.

Furthermore, this week there will probably be a vote in Congress on the issue of the adoption of the tax reform. However, yesterday data was released on the growth of the budget deficit, which did not inspire investors. In October of this year the deficit amounted to 63 billion dollars; as of now, the dollar index continues to decline.

Due to the political tensions and the weak performance of the published price indices, the British pound remains under pressure and is trading inside a corridor.

In case the British Parliament is be able to collect the necessary additional eight votes for the resignation of the current Prime Minister, Theresa May, there is a possibility that a change of government could accelerate the negotiations on Brexit which are actually causing a number of negative factors for the British currency, and will offer support.
