Markets Daily Overview

Since the markets are having quite a busy week, we thought it might be useful to provide you with a brief overview of today’s financial highlights, so you may plan your trades more effectively.

First of all, we have a Federal Reserve meeting today where interest rates will be discussed. However, most analysts back the view that rates may be increased in December, but now is too soon. This is why it is expected the Fed won’t take any action today. Nevertheless, they might surprise everyone, so keep an eye on that decision. Moreover, there is quite a bit of commotion surrounding the dollar, not only because of the rate decision, but also because tomorrow we expect Trump’s nomination for the next head of the Federal Reserve, where the race seems to be between Jerome Powell (dovish) and John Taylor (hawkish).

In terms of the stock market, Asia seems to be doing splendidly, starting November at new highs all around the region, especially in the case of Nikkei (up 1.9%). European stocks (Stoxx 600) are also doing well currently, as is the case on Wall Street as well.

Today in the United States we also expect a bunch of earnings reports from major tech giants such as Facebook, Qualcomm, Tesla, and many more.
